Spring/Summer 2013

It's been a busy year here in Bermuda - in June, the country hosted the ITF Junior Tournament and then in July, the NatWest Island Games - so several of our members were busy volunteering & supporting those events.
However one of our members even played in one of them - Erika Bove - and she won TWO golds for Bermuda in the Games - congratulations for her great effort.

In the meantime at Wimbledon, we have two new champions - congratulations to Britain's Andy Murray, and France's Marion Bartoli. Also at Wimbledon this year, the IC seized an opportunity to present Roger Federer with the award on live@wimbledon on the Sunday before Wimbledon. Michael Stich, Vice-President of the IC Council, presented Roger with the award in the presence of the CEO of CQS,Sir Michael Hintze.  Roger as awarded the IC's 2013 Sportsmanship Award -  click the see  you tube link to see the presentation

Our Chairman attended the IC AGM in June, and brought back some new ideas for us to get together on, but already we are in the heat of the summer in Bermuda, where for most of us, tennis is played first thing in the morning or as the sun goes down! We hope to resume our monthly get togethers on grass in September.

Enjoy the summer........
